Overview
ACCEL Schools is seeking a part-time Lunch Aide at Banning Lewis Ranch Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The Part-Time Lunch Aide will help with the transition of students to/from the lunchroom, assist students with the orderly procurement of their lunches, supervise students while eating to ensure they are orderly, safe, and well-mannered, and help students learn appropriate lunchroom etiquette and positive interactions.
Banning Lewis Academy is a tuition-free public charter school authorized by District 49, serving the Banning Lewis Ranch community and surrounding neighborhoods in Colorado Springs since 2006. The school blends character development and values with modern technology to create an engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities- Monitoring and assisting students at lunch and recess.
- Assisting younger children in getting lunch trays, milk, and condiments.
- Monitoring student behavior and providing appropriate discipline as necessary within school rules.
- Assisting students in cleaning up after themselves (spills, wiping tables, disposing of trash, etc.).
- Helping wash tables, pick up floor trash, and prepare condiments between lunch sessions and after lunch.
- Monitoring students for safety and appropriate behavior on the playground.
- Helping maintain the cleanliness of the classroom, lunchroom and other school areas.
- Understanding, accepting, abiding by, and implementing the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all activities.
- Working cooperatively with lunch and recess staff.
- Acting in accordance with directives from the Administrator (or designee).
- Contributing to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI check
- Ability to meet educational standards as applicable
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs
- Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus

Compensation and BenefitsSalary will begin at $16.50 per hour and is commensurate with experience. Benefits for part-time employees, subject to eligibility, include: 401(k) retirement plan;
Colorado Family & Medical Leave Insurance Program; and paid time off (1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked).
