Overview

Middle School Teacher (6th Grade Math & Social Studies) — 2026–2027 School Year

Colorado International Language Academy (CILA) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Teacher to teach 6th grade Math and Social Studies for the 2026–27 school year. This position is ideal for an educator who values strong academics, collaboration, and supporting students during the important transition to middle school.

CILA is a tuition-free public charter school offering language immersion in Spanish, Mandarin, and German. While this position is taught in English, collaboration within a language-rich, globally focused school community is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach 6th grade Math and Social Studies aligned with Colorado Academic Standards and CILA curriculum
  • Design engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to promote critical thinking and student engagement
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
  • Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and administration
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and expectations
  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school-wide events
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Colorado teaching license preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass the Praxis exams for the subject areas taught (Math and Social Studies/History)
  • Experience teaching upper elementary or middle school preferred
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support a range of learning needs
  • Commitment to collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement
  • Enthusiasm for working with middle school students in a multicultural environment
