About the SchoolBanning Lewis Academy is a tuition‑free public charter school authorized by District 49, proudly serving the Banning Lewis Ranch community and surrounding neighborhoods in Colorado Springs since 2006. Responsibilities of the Part‑Time Lunch Aide include:
- Monitoring and assisting students at lunch and recess.
- Assisting younger children in getting lunch trays, milk and condiments.
- Monitoring student behavior and providing appropriate discipline as necessary within guidelines of school rules.
- Assisting students in cleaning up after themselves (spills, wiping tables, disposing of trash, etc).
- Helping to wash tables, pick up floor trash and ready condiments between lunch sessions and after lunch period.
- Monitoring students for safety and appropriate behavior on the playground.
- Helping maintain the cleanliness of the classroom, lunchroom and other school areas.
- Understanding, accepting, abiding by, and implementing the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all school activities.
- Working cooperatively with lunch and recess employees.
- Acting in accordance with directives from the Administrator (or designee).
- Contributing to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
- Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
- Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently.
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information.
- High quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift 25‑40 lbs.
- Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.
Salary will begin at $20.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience. Factors which may affect starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Benefits for part‑time employees include a 401(k) retirement plan. All eligible employees will participate in Colorado’s Family & Medical Leave Insurance Program, in accordance with state law. Paid Time Off:
Part‑time hourly employees accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked.
