Join James Irwin Charter Schools as a Teacher Assistant for the 4th grade at the Astrozon campus.

• Support classroom teacher in a 4th grade classroom, including lesson preparation and organization.
• Teach a small reading and/or math group when trained and qualified.
• Prepare instructional materials and support one grade level when serving as Satellite Assistant.
• Participate in extensive training and coaching to prepare for potential promotion to classroom teacher.
• Assist with classroom activities, grading, and student supervision.

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with students; experience in an instructional support role is a plus.
• Valid PRAXIS test in Elementary Education (5205 and 5901) or willingness to complete.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or move around the classroom for most of the day; occasional lifting of light materials.

• Hourly pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.00, depending on degree and PRAXIS status.
• Full‑time benefits including health, dental, and limited vision.
• Paid monthly on a 12‑month schedule, even during summer break.
• 191 work days per year, July–May schedule.

Stamina to stand, walk, or move around the classroom for most of the day; occasional lifting of light materials and equipment as needed for classroom set‑up.
