Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science
Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Colorado College invites applications for a visiting position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in August of 2026. Pending final approval of funding, we seek a mathematician or statistician who can teach a range of introductory through advanced courses within their discipline. The teaching load is six courses per year. Visiting positions at Colorado College are renewable up to three times, for up to a total of four years, depending on departmental staffing needs.
The department offers a major and minor in mathematics, with the option of emphasis in statistics, as well as a major in computer science and a new minor in data science. The department fosters a supportive, inclusive, and equitable learning community of faculty and students. Colorado College is a nationally recognized, residential liberal arts and sciences college enrolling approximately 2,100 students from across the US and around the world.
The College is located in Colorado Springs, a city which offers many cultural and recreational activities in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Region. Colorado College is distinguished by its immersive learning and pedagogy made possible by the Block Plan, in which professors teach, and students take, one course at a time. Each block is three and a half weeks long, allowing for unique teaching and learning strategies.

Letters of Recommendation
All candidates must provide three letters of reference, at least one of which must address the applicant's teaching.

Minimum Qualifications
- A PhD in mathematics or statistics (ABD candidates who will complete their PhD before August 2026 will be considered)
- Relevant teaching experience as instructor of record or extensive experience as a teaching assistant
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad teaching experience in mathematics or statistics
- Demonstrated success teaching using innovative, inclusive, and equitable teaching methods
