JOB

SUMMARY

Creates a warm, responsive, and predictable environment where infants feel safe, comforted, and supported as they build secure attachments and meet early developmental milestones. The Infant Teacher provides consistent, attuned caregiving—nurturing each child’s unique rhythms, cues, and needs while supporting their physical, social-emotional, and early cognitive development.

Through responsive routines, sensory-rich experiences, and gentle interaction, this role helps infants explore their world, develop emerging skills, and form trusting relationships. In partnership with families, the Infant Teacher ensures continuity of care and a high-quality environment aligned with Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) licensing requirements and NAEYC standards, laying the earliest foundations for healthy development and future learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide warm, nurturing, and predictable care that supports secure attachment and responds sensitively to infants’ cues.
  • Ensure full compliance with CDHS licensing requirements, NAEYC accreditation standards, and all health and safety expectations for infants.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment designed for non-mobile and mobile infants, ensuring close, active supervision at all times.
  • Support infants’ emerging skills by offering sensory experiences, intentional routines, floor time, and interactions that encourage early development across all domains.
  • Observe, document, and respond to each child’s developmental progress, adjusting caregiving practices to meet individual needs and milestones.
  • Partner with families through consistent, respectful communication that supports continuity of care, shares daily updates, and celebrates developmental changes.
  • Engage in gentle, developmentally appropriate interactions—talking, singing, holding, and comforting infants to promote early language and social-emotional growth.
  • Apply principles of infant development in all caregiving routines, adapting approaches to support feeding, sleeping, mobility, and emerging self-regulation skills.
SECONDARY DUTIES
  • Build positive, professional relationships with families and colleagues to support a warm and inclusive classroom community.
  • Communicate effectively with co-teachers and cross-department partners to ensure coordinated support for children and families.
  • Share information appropriately with co-teachers and supervisors to ensure continuity of care and consistent routines.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding children, families, staff, and program operations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions, maintaining a positive approach, reliable attendance, and alignment with Early Connections’ values.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of a CDA or PDIS Level 2 plus 6+ credit hours in ECE college courses. Additional coursework may be required based on classroom assignment.
  • Must meet Colorado minimum Rules and Regulations for Teachers; must be Early Childhood Teacher qualified.
