CLDE (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education) Instructional Paraprofessional
Provide support to teachers and work with students, individually and in small groups, who are struggling to learn English.

Hourly Pay Rate: $18.60+ (Salary placement is based on experience).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Participate and implement instructional activities in small groups of students. Introduce, review and reinforce reading skills.
- Reinforce writing and spelling skills.
- Provide assistance and instruction to individual students in small groups. Prepare and collect learning materials. Introduce, review, and provide reinforcement in math skills under the direction of teacher.
- Correct and grade student work. Monitor group of children. Discuss with teacher how students are progressing in learning activities.
- Assume and maintain supervision for playground, field trips, and walking to different classes.
- Prepare and arrange learning displays and instructional materials including flashcards and games. Collect items and secure supplies for planned activities.
- Tutor select students in English, numbers, pronunciation, phonics and colors.
- Assist various subject teachers (i.e. art, computer, etc) in accomplishing goals.
- Decorate classroom bulletin boards.
- Supervise students in the classroom when the teacher has to temporarily leave (e.g. emergency meeting or student testing).
- Translate for parents during teacher conferences. Translate notes and make phone calls to parents.
- (Elementary/K-8) Perform crossing guard duties as assigned by school administration to include attending crossing guard training and directing action of children and traffic at assigned crosswalks.
- (Elementary/K-8) Perform lunchroom monitor duties as assigned by school administration to include assisting students with lining up to receive their lunches, helping students open items on their trays, enforcing lunchroom rules, leading students to the lunchroom, dismissing students from the lunchroom, wiping down tables, and assisting with organizing and implementing indoor activities for students during inclement weather.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Upload/Scan transcripts if applicable.
- 0 – 2 years experience. Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Colorado Driver’s license preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
