Your Role as a Field EngineerThompson Thrift seeks a motivated, detail‑driven Field Engineer to be the heartbeat of our on‑site operations. You will coordinate teams, tackle challenges, and support smooth execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the project team to monitor safety, cost, schedule, quality control, and punch list completion.
- Complete, update, and file quality control checklists.
- Assist with coordination of material deliveries as directed.
- Oversee and take responsibility for the successful completion of specific trades or scopes from start to final punch.
- Provide day‑to‑day guidance to subcontractors and their hourly trade employees.
- Assist with the punch process as directed by site management.
- Report subcontractor headcount daily for each required construction trade.
- Ensure job site safety by policing and assisting with clean‑up.
- Submit notifications of inadequate cleanup with photos and ensure resolution.
- Take and store pictures of construction progress on a daily/weekly basis.
- Assist the project team in any capacity directed.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered). - Experience:
Minimum 1 year of construction experience, with internships or hands‑on experience acceptable. - Knowledge of construction terminology, processes, and plan reading.
- Exposure to scheduling, cost tracking, and job site safety practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore or similar software a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaborative mindset.
- Self‑motivated with a proactive attitude, problem‑solving skills.
- Receptive to feedback and able to follow through on direction.
- First Aid/CPR
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety and Health Training
- Annual Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Project bonus potential, subsistence pay, cell phone stipend, auto allowances, merit increases, paid holidays, paid time off.

This position requires mobility on active construction sites and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Tasks may involve exposure to outdoor elements, uneven surfaces, power tools, and loud environments. The employee must comply with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
