Cyberspatial is a rapidly growing defense technology company supporting the United States Department of Defense and federal partners with advanced sensor systems and software. As we scale, we are strengthening our accounting infrastructure to support complex government contracts, compliance requirements, and operational growth.

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of core accounting operations, government contract financial execution, and month-end close. This role reports directly to the CFO/COO and offers a clear path toward Controller-level leadership as the organization grows.

This is a hands‑on operational accounting position with broad ownership across financial execution, compliance, and process improvement. You will operate with autonomy in a fast‑paced environment where balancing startup agility with government contracting precision is critical.

• Perform revenue recognition across POC, fixed‑fee, and T&M contracts
• Maintain unbilled AR and deferred revenue schedules
• Track contract funding, ceilings, and CLIN performance
• Prepare WAWF invoice submissions
• Support DCAA readiness and incurred cost preparation

• Own month‑end close process and continuous cycle improvement
• Prepare journal entries and accruals
• Perform balance sheet and subledger reconciliations
• Calculate indirect rates and perform variance analysis
• Produce financial reporting for leadership review

• Process AP and vendor payments
• Prepare customer invoices and manage AR collections
• Review expense reports
• Maintain vendor onboarding and 1099 preparation

• Support sales tax coordination and payroll review
• Maintain accounting system records and structures
• Improve workflows and controls
• Assist with audit, tax, and R&D credit documentation

• 3–5 years accounting experience
• Government contracting or federal client accounting exposure
• Experience with contract revenue recognition
• Month‑end close ownership
• Ability to operate independently in evolving environments

• SaaS/software revenue exposure
• CPA or CPA‑track
