Role Summary
The Production Supervisor will coordinate personnel, equipment, and product to meet safety, quality, production, and efficiency standards. Assures compliance with FDA, ISO, OSHA regulations and company policies.
Duties and Responsibilities- Follow SOPs, safety policies, quality standards, lean practices, and GMP.
- Provide on‑job training and orientation to personnel.
- Oversee machine operations and coordinate maintenance/engineering support.
- Maintain attendance records, counsel, and discipline employees as per company policy.
- Prepare daily production reports, process orders, DHRs, PPRs, pallet placards, and other test or production records.
- Review production documents before forwarding to Quality Control.
- Arrange necessary work with the Maintenance Department for equipment operating conditions.
- Monitor daily quality data and assist with troubleshooting quality issues.
- Assist with production planning and scheduling.
- Engage in lean activities and lead or participate in problem‑solving initiatives.
- Monitor startup of department areas as required.
- Attend shift hand‑off and required meetings; present staffing, machine, product, and quality status.
- Requisition, maintain, and inspect in‑process supplies.
- Perform physical inventories as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Work overtime as required.
- 2–3 years related leadership experience.
- 2–4 year post‑secondary degree.
- Four‑year college degree.
- At least four years in high‑speed manufacturing (pharmaceutical, consumer products, food, or medical device).
- Read and understand English; complete required forms and training in English.
- Arithmetic skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions, decimals.
- Organizational, communication, and computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with lean tools and principles.
- Proficiency in using electrical and hand trucks, tools, and equipment safely.
- Mechanical aptitude and machine operation understanding.
- Problem‑solving and conflict resolution ability.
- Team leadership and collaborative skills.
- Initiative for continuous improvement.
- Reliability in punctuality and attendance.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Verbal, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
- Work from sitting and/or standing positions for long periods.
- Work with moving machinery, maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs; lift up to 25‑75 lbs when necessary.
- Comfortable in a light industrial environment, possibly with non‑toxic dust.
- Non‑air‑conditioned environment.
- Climb ladders and cross‑over ladders when required.
- Identify and solve technical and process problems.
- Inspect, adjust, and clean machines.
- Visually inspect products for defects.
- Step/ climb ladders.
- Push/pull pallet jacks, 55‑gallon barrels, and other material loads.
