Field Technician II; Overnight

Field Technician II (Overnight Travel Required)

The Field Technician II role at Compucom Staffing requires overnight travel from Sunday through Thursday, on-site at the client location during normal business hours with potential overtime. Candidates must have a valid state driver’s license (Real ), a clean MVR, and a reliable vehicle. This position will be located in Colonial Heights, VA.

• Project focus on upgrading advanced commercial printers at retail locations
• Replace printer parts, paper feed, power supply, print head, toner drum, transfer belt, and image unit as needed
• Perform complex upgrades and troubleshooting of printers, servers, hard drives, and monitor systems
• Provide on‑site technical support to internal or external customers, resolving complex or escalated technology issues related to operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
• Install and remove equipment and systems as required
• Responsible for day‑to‑day operation of applications and equipment and serve as a customer contact on technical and service‑related problems
• Ensure all schedules, transmissions, online systems, and problems are resolved accurately and timely
• Serve as liaison between customers, departments, and within the organization to lead problem resolution and change management processes
• Determine the most cost‑effective repair or resolution to minimize customer downtime

• Minimum 2‑3+ years of field service experience, specifically with commercial printers
• Extensive traveling via plane and/or car required
• Experience with commercial/large printers;
  Lexmark printer certification is a plus
• Electronics and mechanical aptitude with experience repairing commercial printers
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, networks, databases, and network security concepts and tools
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including MS Outlook
• Experience with multi‑platform Windows operating systems
• Familiarity with Rufus, Windows Server imaging, photo printing, and troubleshooting system connectivity and Windows configuration
• Ability to work independently in a retail environment
• Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs
• Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
• Strong verbal and written communication with key stakeholders, leadership, partners, team members, other organizations, and customers
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail and quality
• Demonstrated capability to achieve results in a fast‑paced, client‑driven environment

The rate for this position is between $18.76 and $27.50 per hour. Factors influencing starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
