Base pay range$15.00/hr - $16.00/hr
OverviewCashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area, proactively seek product knowledge to provide information and identify selling opportunities, and follow policies to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier may supervise and coach Front End staff by expediting price checks, approving POS transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience.
- Process Checkout and/or Return transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area.
- Proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information and identify selling opportunities.
- Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
- Provide first level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervision, coaching and training of Front End Associates; participate in training of new Cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop others.
- Head Cashier responsibilities include expediting price checks and approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
