Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) - Location:
Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO - Schedule:
Full‑time, 36 hours per week - Shift: Days and nights available
- Sign‑On Bonus:
Up to $10,000 for experienced RNs;
Up to $5,000 for Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year)
The CPCU specializes in caring for complex cardiovascular and thoracic patients, including:
- Post‑operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias
- STEMI and myocardial infarctions
- Pulmonary issues
- Kidney failure
- Overdoses and medical step‑down patients
You’ll work closely with surgeons, cardiologists, and the heart clinic to ensure patients transition safely and confidently back home.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
Certifications (Required): Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
