The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving efficiency, quality, and operational excellence across all plant functions. This role analyzes processes, identifies waste, and leads improvements that enhance productivity and value. The engineer will partner closely with Operations and Maintenance to standardize workflows, support preventative and predictive maintenance efforts, and monitor performance. This position also prepares reports, conducts evaluations, and ensures improvements are measurable, cost-effective, and aligned with business goals.

Note:
Food processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze production and operational processes to identify inefficiencies and reduce waste.
  • Track equipment downtime and support initiatives to improve uptime and reliability.
  • Optimize process flow, balance workloads, and enhance plant layout for efficient operations.
  • Identify opportunities to increase value, productivity, and overall product quality.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Establish production standards, support cycle counts, and develop training tools for operations teams.
  • Prepare reports, technical documentation, and project justifications for management review.
  • Ensure all improvement initiatives are measurable, sustainable, and aligned with plant objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
