Assistant Store Manager – 4610 Merchants Park Cir, Ste 531, Collierville, TN
Position ObjectiveThe Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in promoting a customer‑ and product‑focused sales culture, managing sales operations, asset protection, and human resources functions to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability.
Functional Responsibilities Performance Culture- Analyzes sales reports and KPIs to determine the needs of the business and executes in‑store business and sales strategies in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Establishes and communicates clear expectations, holding the store team and themselves accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
- Controls payroll and supply budget.
- Oversees basic operational activities such as scheduling, target shrink audits, physical inventory, opening and closing duties, time‑sheet review, and payroll accuracy.
- Performs all financial activities in accordance with policy, including cash handling, register transactions, price changes, and merchandise handling.
- Ensures compliance with laws, loss‑prevention policies, operating procedures, and controls; conducts associate training to reinforce proper controls.
- Administers operational processes including inventory receipt/dispatch, daily replenishment, and physical inventories.
- Maintains visual presentation, organization, and facility maintenance representative of the Brand.
- Develops a high‑performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.
- Trains and coaches the sales team to be fluent in all aspects of product knowledge online and in store.
- Assists with fulfillment and selling.
- Motivates and inspires the store team, developing a shared vision while modeling core values.
- Promotes an inclusive, collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Communicates with store teams and the Store Manager to lead positive change.
- Seeks personal development opportunities and solicits feedback to build leadership skills.
- Models, teaches, and promotes the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles and standards, offering a cohesive omni‑channel experience.
- Utilizes various techniques to recommend merchandise and assist customers in locating or obtaining merchandise based on their needs.
- Ensures prompt resolution of customer concerns.
- Maintains a fast and efficient register experience, staying current on policies regarding payments, coupon acceptance, returns, exchanges, and security practices.
- Encourages team to maintain consistent client communication through the customer book, rewards program participation, and capture sign‑ups.
- Assists in recruiting, hiring, and developing a high‑performance team.
- Supports, implements, and follows up on training programs, seminars, etc.
- Assesses and coaches store team on performance.
- Works with the Store Manager to resolve human resources issues promptly.
- Drives associate and team engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
- Ensures the store team adheres to all employment practices and policies.
Other duties as assigned. Some duties may vary by brand.
Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of retail management experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt to technology provided by the company.
- Proven excellent customer service skills with a statistical track record in sales and leadership.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Leadership qualities, training and team‑building skills.
- Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
- Ability to communicate with customers and staff.
- Regular attendance is essential; ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Constant walking/standing – 67‑100% of 8‑hour shift.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs – 1‑33% of 8‑hour shift.
- Frequent climbing – 34‑66% of 8‑hour shift.
