Student - Teaching Assistant Econ​/Finance

Assist professor with managing the technical and logistics aspects of class, as well as with grading that does not require high level expertise. Attendance in classes is not required.

• Set up and post canvas assignments based on information provided by the professor;
• Grade/check-off smaller assignments that have the primary criteria of completion and effort. No grading of more complex assignments or papers will be done by the TA;
• Running integrated AI checkers via canvas, and forwarding concerns about potential AI use or other academic honesty violations to the professor for evaluation. TA will never make a final call about whether a violation has occurred;
• Assist students with technical aspects of assignments, such as file formats or submission guidelines;

• Must be a full-time student at Ursinus College
• Reliability/Timeliness:
  • Able to post an assignment or document on canvas within 24 hours of being emailed by the professor;
  • Able to grade simple ‘completion’/’effort’ assignments within 48 hours of their submission;
  • Completion of other reasonable requests in a timely manner;
  • Exceptions certainly can be made for illness or other circumstances;

Knowledge of research method techniques, good writing skills, and familiarity with canvas.
