Software Applications Developer

Overview

We’re on the hunt for a passionate and innovative software developer to play a key role in supporting the university’s Public Policy Research Institute (PPRI), working on the Texas Indigent Defense Commission (TIDC) and Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA) projects. As a Software Applications Developer you will collaborate with end users throughout the entire development process, spanning from conceptualization and application deployment to ongoing maintenance and support.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain web-based applications.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers.
  • Document system procedures and guidelines.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance.
  • Participate in collaborative team software design.
  • Meet with customers and technical staff to determine needs and requirements.
  • Engage in IT trainings and professional development activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 3 years of software development experience.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure.
Preferred Skills
  • Advanced skills in ASP.NET C#, PHP/Laravel, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Advanced database design, querying, and administration with Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL.
  • Advanced client relations skills.
  • Quality Assurance experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git Hub.
  • Responsive web design best practices.
What to know

Salary: $60,000

Location:

In-person role in College Station, Texas

Schedule:

May require working outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
