• Follow all health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Perform cleanup duties
• Perform material handling and storage duties
• Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools
• Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment
• Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics
• Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging
• Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware
• Knowledge and application of common hitches, emergency stop signal, basic crane hand signals, knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks
• Identify equipment types
• Perform equipment inspection, service and maintenance as required
• Read and use equipment operator’s manual
• Assist with equipment service and maintenance
• Identify components and controls of equipment
• Ability to respond to equipment emergency procedures
• Operate bulldozer in successive passes over working area to achieve specified results, such as raising or lowering terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals, or removing, dumping or spreading earth and rock
• Grade and level soil to exacting specifications for fine finish and proof roll prep
• Digs trenches of specified length, depth and width; removes loosened material and places in piles for transport trucks
• Levels and pushes soil, controlling the direction and angle of the dozer to move rocks, debris and other materials
• Fastens attachment to tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches
• Starts engine, moves throttle, switches and levers; depresses pedals to operate machines, equipment and attachments
• Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage or power take-off shaft to provide power to raise, lower or tilt attachments on certain equipment
• Keep equipment clean and well maintained, monitoring all engine gauges and notifying supervisor if equipment needs repair/maintenance
• Interact with construction general laborers and/or crew members who are facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustment of the equipment to complete conformation of grade specifications for the construction project
• Understand, interpret and follow all directions from supervisor, superintendents, and engineers
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning; grease, oil and perform minor repairs if required using grease gun, oil cans, and hand tools
• All other duties as assigned
