Compressor Technician

Job Summary

COMPRESSOR TECHNICIAN – Full time position located at TAMU – 600 Agronomy Road, College Station, TX 77843 with openings at other district locations. Online applications only. Schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm (full and part‑time options available). Prior compressor experience required. Fixed pay $55.00/hr ssc offers training, growth opportunities, comprehensive benefits and same‑day pay.

• Construct, finish, install, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
• Clean, lubricate, service or repair HVAC, electrical, mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems and fire alarm systems.
• Lead a group of workers on a project.
• Teach maintenance skills to department members.
• Update work statuses, timing and costs of repairs using company technology systems.
• Oversee fleet maintenance support including welding, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
• Review work of outside vendors; create punch lists.
• Determine manpower, material needs and deadlines for jobs.
• Read blueprints and specifications to plan work layout.
• Perform routine computations.
• Maintain logs, conduct rounds, complete tests and inspections.
• Respond to emergency problems and perform emergency repairs.
• Recommend modifications to preventive maintenance systems.
• Serve as member of facility’s emergency response team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 5+ years maintenance technician experience in an institutional setting.
• Specialization in one trade with appropriate journeyman license (Electrical, Plumber, Welding, etc.) or EPA certified refrigerant technician.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
