Licensed Journeyman Plumber – UCC (Full Time)
We are hiring immediately for a full‑time Licensed Journeyman Plumber – UCC position at SSC Services for Education.
Location:
TAMU – 1248 TAMU, College Station, TX 77843. (Openings at other school district locations available.

Full‑time schedule;
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Full and part‑time options available.)
$25.00 – $28.00 per hour.

The Licensed Master Plumber holds the license that all other technicians in that trade will work under. Responsibilities include ensuring all work complies with applicable laws, supervising workers, teaching advanced maintenance skills, reviewing vendor work, and reporting or repairing discrepancies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Oversee maintenance, repair, replacement, operation, and renovation of plumbing equipment and facilities.
- Make decisions on normal and complex repairs; report major problems to Operations Manager and upper management.
- Read and understand blueprints, specifications, or models; plan own work layout and perform routine computations.
- Review outside vendor projects and create punch lists.
- Analyze and correct complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
- Maintain systems, equipment, and facilities in a clean, safe operating condition in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Determine manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs or projects.
- Maintain logs, perform rounds, and recommend modifications or improvements to preventive maintenance systems.
- Use the site CMMS; update work statuses and document tasks completed in real time via mobile device.
- Contribute to a safe work environment by reporting accidents and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 8 years minimum training and work experience: 4 years in a DOL‑accredited Apprentice Program plus 4 years working as a Journeyman Plumber.
- Valid Master’s Plumbing license and proof of a valid RMP endorsement.
- Valid Class “C” driver’s license.
- Rudimentary ability to operate hand‑operated construction equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and perform strenuous labor for extended periods.
- Exposure to elevated heat, noise, dust, dirt, and/or areas requiring infection control.
- Must meet daily completion deadlines; work all hours, including weekends and nights, as necessary to maintain facility safety.
