About the Restaurant

Star Cinema Grill is an upscale, dine‑in theater concept that offers guests first‑run cinema releases, an extensive food menu, and a full‑service bar with a wide selection of beer, wine, and spirits.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Culinary Manager who will be directly responsible for all kitchen functions, including purchasing, product preparation, maintenance of quality standards, sanitation & cleanliness, and training of team members in cooking methods, plate presentation, portion control, and cost control.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure consistent food preparation and service according to recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
  • Make employment and termination decisions, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplining kitchen personnel.
  • Provide orientation and training for new kitchen staff on company policies and procedures.
  • Support guest service standards and efficient operations as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain required paperwork, forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
  • Maintain equipment in clean, working condition through preventive maintenance programs.
  • Plan and price menu items in collaboration with restaurant managers, establishing portion sizes and preparing standard recipe cards.
  • Order products according to specifications and ensure correct receipt, quantity, and condition.
  • Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition, storage, recipe, and waste control procedures.
  • Conduct employee performance appraisals and ensure timely completion.
  • Schedule labor to meet anticipated business activity while meeting labor cost objectives.
  • Administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for policy violations.
  • Oversee training of kitchen personnel on safe operation of equipment and utensils.
  • Maintain cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, equipment, and food storage areas.
  • Check and maintain proper refrigeration temperature control points.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of leadership experience within the hospitality industry, preferably a full‑service concept.
  • Experience working in a scratch kitchen.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
  • Passion for providing excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Exemplary organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
  • Working knowledge of Orca inventory systems is a plus.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs, with or without accommodations.
  • High School / GED diploma.
