We are looking for a full‑time Cook to join the Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services team in College Station, TX. The role involves preparing high‑quality food in compliance with federal, state, and corporate standards.

Hours:
Full‑time. Schedule, hours, and days may vary and will be discussed during the interview.
USD $16.00–$17.00 per hour.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Prepare high‑quality food items following standardized recipes and schedules.
- Serve meals or prepare meals for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation.
- Conduct ticket collection procedures during service and maintain accurate records.
- Keep kitchen clean and maintain high standards of cleanliness, properly storing or discarding excess food.
- Maintain refrigerators, storerooms, and kitchen equipment in safe, organized condition.
- Assists with production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
- Orders and receives all food and supplies as needed.
- Reports maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Attends safety, service, and compliance meetings.
- Maintains positive relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
- Performs all duties safely, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
- Abides by all Company policies and procedures, including:
- Use of medium‑weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, or slicing equipment.
- Use of oven, fryer, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans.
- Wear slip‑resistant shoes and apply proper lifting techniques.
- Previous cooking experience preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks safely in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food‑service regulations and HACCP standards is an advantage.
