Inventory Specialist - Assembly Technician

On-Demand Systems is a small business manufacturer located in College Station, TX. We target low-volume manufacture for the Department of Defense and related agencies such as first responders, federal entities, NATO, and U. S. allies. ODS is production-oriented and deadline-driven, offering opportunities for personal and professional growth.

This position involves helping on the production line, including fabrication, assembly, and testing of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies in accordance with production documentation. The role also involves overseeing supply chain operations by developing processes that improve efficiency, coordinating transportation providers, arranging special shipping as necessary, reviewing and routing purchase orders, organizing and managing inventory, addressing inventory issues, liaising with suppliers, and utilizing an inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control.

• Maintains proper inventory by checking stock to determine levels; anticipates demand to meet production schedules; places and expedites orders for supplies and materials.
• Uses Inventory Management system to create purchase orders; MISys experience is a plus.
• Verifies accuracy of received orders, properly labels and stores items within the inventory area.
• Performs receiving/inspection using a variety of test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and industry standards.
• Gathers inventory items to meet production schedules using a parts list to assemble parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Troubleshoots products, processes, and test equipment; makes recommendations for improvements.
• Supports company policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and manufacturing best practices.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates or Technical degree in medium voltage and low voltage is a plus.
• Inventory/MRP system experience is desired; MISys experience a plus.
• General knowledge of part and assembly drawings.
• Position involves both mechanical and electrical work; prior experience in manufacturing or service center is desired.
• Fluent in written and oral English is required.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds from floor to counter height regularly and occasionally lift heavier objects.
