Staff

• Oversee student workers and assist graduate students with research projects
• Assist in hay production operations
• Operations of Center Pivot Irrigation System, including repairs
• Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and operating plans to support the mission of the facility and department in coordination with Livestock Operations manager and McGregor manager
• Construction and maintenance of fences; maintain equipment, buildings, and other structures at TAMU Beef Cattle Systems
• Manage and coordinate an intensive research feeding program that incorporates a ‘Growsafe System’ and receiving pens
• Plant and maintain pastures, and maintain weed control program on pastures and fence rows
• Manage 200 head cow/calf operation and 150 head stocker operation according to protocols and ensuring regulatory compliance
• Perform other job-related duties as required

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three years of related experience in farm management operations

• Knowledge of laboratory maintenance, equipment, and safety
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
• Knowledge of farm operations and standard safety procedures
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to perform moderate physical activity and exposure to extreme weather conditions
• Ability to maintain an on-call schedule during evenings, weekends, and holidays
