Radiologic Tech PRN – Baylor Scott & White Health
Join the Radiologic Technologist PRN role at Baylor Scott & White Health. The Radiologic Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Responsibilities- Perform high quality radiology procedures in a timely manner, maintaining production and quality of imaging procedures.
- Understand radiation dose reference levels and monitor dose; take action if dose exceeds reference levels.
- Use AIDET communication to identify patient service requirements and establish rapport with patients and others.
- Position patients, adjust immobilization devices, move equipment and set exposure factors.
- Adhere to safety, infection‑control, radiation policies and maintain hand hygiene.
- Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities.
- Report issues to management; assist in maintaining supplies inventory.
- Screen individuals to ensure safe entry into the department per approved policies.
- Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation (requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies, and procedures).
- Maintain medical imaging records in the appropriate system according to department policies and standards.
- Perform high quality radiology procedures according to protocol in a timely manner.
- Explain procedures and put patients at ease.
- Provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost‑efficient manner in compliance with established standards, policies and procedures.
- Perform tasks independently without need for routine oversight.
- Maintain a calm and helpful attitude under stress and resolve issues appropriately.
- Effectively administer first aid and use emergency cart.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service.
- Maintain current knowledge and continued education for all age groups (newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, geriatric).
- Serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members.
- Take call, if required.

Qualifications- Education – Graduate of an accredited program.
- Experience – Less than 1 year of experience.
- Certification/License/Registration – ARRT‑R Radiography.
- BLS – Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
- MRT – Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
