** The Assistant Chief of State Operations Center - TIFMAS position will provide oversight and coordination to the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) and serve as the primary liaison with the TIFMAS State Coordinator. The position will coordinate with TIFMAS, Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) and the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) leadership to ensure program goals are accomplished.
The position will assist with coordination efforts between TAMFS and the TIFMAS stakeholder group.

**** Responsibilities:**-Provide coordination to the TIFMAS Program by serving as primary liaison to TIFMAS State Coordinator. Will collaborate with TIFMAS, TAMFS and TDEM leadership to address issues facing the program. Will cooperate with TAMFS Capacity Building Department on grant issues. Will represent the program professionally and serve as Subject Matter Expert. Serve as an agency representative at the State Operations Center and/or in the field when TIFMAS is activated.
-Participate in state and national committees relating to all-hazard incident management and response. Serve as Subject Matter Expert for TIFMAS and provide expertise to cooperators and partnering agencies.
-Coordinate TIFMAS functions and other departments within the agency. Work with training and qualifications staff to ensure qualified TIFMAS personnel, work with dispatch and EOC staff on mobilization and intel duties relating to TIFMAS.
-Maintain and account for assigned credit cards, vehicle logs, time reports and any assigned TAMFS equipment in accordance with applicable laws, rules, procedures and guidelines.
-Participation in emergency response is required. Response duties may require exposure to harsh environmental conditions such as smoke, wind, sunlight, rain, temperatures extremes, extended work hours, extended bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, sitting and lifting up to 50 lbs. Will require frequent travel in State vehicles and overnight stays.

* Education and Experience:
** Required
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Fire Sciences, Public Administration or related field of study or equivalent combination of education or experience.
Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Emergency Management, Fire Sciences, Public Administration or related field of study.
Required Experience:
Seven (7) years of experience with emergency response, wildland fire or incidental management.
Preferred Experience:
Ten (10) ears of experience with emergency response, wildland fire or incidental management.
