Position: Tenure-Track: Assistant Professor (Behavioral and Cellular Neuroscience )

Overview

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, at Texas A&M University invites applications for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Behavioral and Cellular Neuroscience. These are 9-month academic appointments to begin in Fall 2026. The specific area of research is open but should focus on neuroscience research in animal models that complements and expands existing strengths in the department (e.g., learning and memory, drug abuse, stress/anxiety, neural injury/degeneration).

Candidates whose program integrates cutting-edge neuroscientific methods to investigate behavioral and psychological processes using animal models are particularly competitive.

Applicants should have an outstanding record of research achievement, demonstrated potential for extramural funding, and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education in psychology and neuroscience. The successful candidate will engage in research, grant applications, and funded projects; teach courses in our graduate and undergraduate programs; and contribute to the department, college, university, and their field. Priority will be given to applications received by October 1, but applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
