Middle School, Special Education Teacher
Applications are being accepted by the College Place School District for a Middle School Teacher, anticipated focus area is science, assigned to John Sager Middle School starting in the school year. POSITION& BENEFITS:
Job Title: Middle School Teacher
Reports to: Assigned Building Principal

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position: 8 hours per day, 187 days per school year (10 months)
Salary: $57,482 - $111,588 (this is 25-26 schedule as IPD isn't released yet)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate including appropriate endorsements.
- Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse.
SKILLS:
- Successful experience as a Science Teacher
- Secondary Education experience
- Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish is considered helpful. District tests to verify skill levels.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instructional activities consistent with building and adopted district curriculum and State Standards.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of techniques and materials, which may be used in teaching students in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Directors and other appropriate learning activities.
- Exhibit strong skills and background in instructional methods and strategies.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve an environment conducive to learning.
- Diagnose and prescribe learning and training programs for individual pupils based on student aptitude and interest.
- Evaluate student’s academic, social, and emotional growth, using a variety of authentic assessment techniques, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
- Possess the ability to use computers for instruction and assessment.
- Display humor and positive regard to students and colleagues.
- Show the ability to utilize and evaluate interpretive feedback.
- Present a positive attitude about change and an eagerness to implement changes that will enhance student learning.
- Bring experience teaching middle school science and a strong foundation in content knowledge.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to collaboration within the science department and across grade levels and content areas, aligning instruction to support student growth.
- Build trusting relationships with colleagues by listening well, valuing diverse perspectives, and contributing positively to team culture.
- Connect meaningfully with students and families, maintaining clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
