JD-XVII Law Firm is a for-profit law firm being established with a deliberate focus on scalability, institutional rigor, and long-term enterprise value. The firm concentrates on litigation, defense, and institutional accountability, with a structure designed to support multi-jurisdictional growth.
We are currently forming our Board of Directors and invite qualified individuals to be considered for a dual-capacity appointment as Board Director and Strategic Investor.
Position: Board Director & Strategic Investor
This role is intended for individuals who can contribute both governance leadership and capital alignment during the firm’s formative stage. Board members will participate in shaping the firm’s strategic direction, operational discipline, and capitalization strategy.
This is an active, fiduciary role with ownership participation. It is not honorary or advisory in nature.
Board Responsibilities- Fulfill fiduciary duties to the firm and its shareholders
- Provide governance oversight, strategic guidance, and risk management input
- Advise on firm expansion, organizational structure, and operational scaling
- Review and approve major corporate actions, including financing, partnerships, and geographic growth
- Participate in quarterly board meetings and periodic strategic sessions
- Initial seed investment of $50,000 upon board appointment
- Demonstrated capacity and willingness to make additional investments in future growth rounds, as appropriate
- Ability to introduce or facilitate access to additional aligned investors, institutions, or strategic partners
- Investment structure to be disclosed during onboarding (equity or profit-interest based, subject to applicable regulations)
Board membership is contingent upon financial alignment and ownership participation.
Candidate ProfileQualified candidates typically possess two or more of the following:
- Prior board service, investor experience, or senior executive leadership
- Background in law firm management, finance, private equity, venture capital, or professional services
- Experience scaling regulated or service-based enterprises
- Established networks within business, finance, government, or institutional clients
- A long-term perspective focused on durable enterprise value and disciplined growth
- Board term: 2–3 years (staggered appointments)
- Time commitment: approximately 4–6 hours per quarter, with additional engagement during key growth phases
- Ongoing participation in governance and capital strategy
- A voting seat on the Board of Directors
- Ownership interest aligned with the firm’s growth and performance
- Direct influence over strategic, operational, and capitalization decisions
- Participation in the development of a growth-oriented, institutionally structured law firm
This role is not suitable for individuals seeking:
- Passive or honorary board positions
- Visibility without financial participation
