About JD Law Firm

JD Law Firm is being built as a counterweight to institutional and corporate overreach. We exist to defend people and communities—particularly disabled individuals and other marginalized groups—against systems that are well-funded, legally aggressive, and structurally insulated from accountability.

It is designed to last, to matter, and to take on cases others avoid.

We are seeking a legal co-founder—an attorney who wants to help build the firm itself, not just work inside one. This role carries shared responsibility for vision, governance, case strategy, and ethical direction.

You will co-shape:

• The firm’s litigation priorities
• Its relationship to community partners and nonprofit ecosystems
• Its long-term sustainability and independence

This is a founder role. It involves risk, judgment, and authority.

• Co-lead defense and impact litigation against institutions, corporations, and state actors
• Develop legal strategy for cases intended to set precedent or shift power dynamics
• Participate in firm governance, policy-setting, and structural design
• Build relationships with community organizations, experts, and aligned movements
• Help define the firm’s ethical boundaries, not just its legal tactics

• You may be a fit if you:
• Are a licensed attorney in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Have experience in litigation, defense, civil rights, disability law, or public interest law
• Are dissatisfied with performative justice and symbolic reform
• Can operate without needing constant institutional validation
• Understand that building something principled takes time, friction, and resolve

Prior founding experience is helpful but not required. Seriousness is.

• Not a salaried associate position
• Not a figurehead or advisory title
• Not compatible with conflicts that undermine the firm’s mission

Equity structure, compensation, and time commitment will be discussed transparently and aligned with contribution, responsibility, and sustainability. The goal is durability—not extraction.
