Product Management Director - Quantum Computing
IonQ is developing the world's most powerful full‑stack quantum computer based on trapped‑ion technology. We are pushing past the limits of classical physics to unlock a new era of computing. Join us at IonQ’s Quantum Computing Division as a Product Management Director to lead the team in building critical pieces of our portfolio.
Responsibilities- Understand The Market
:
Build a strong point of view about customer needs and how IonQ and competitors can deliver. - Understand Our Technology
:
Immerse yourself in IonQ’s technology, engineering, and R&D roadmap, and inform product decisions. - Define and Align
:
Champion user and business needs in roadmaps and priorities and collaborate with engineering to manage tradeoffs. - Deliver
:
Lead cross‑functional efforts to define product value proposition, positioning, and go‑to‑market strategy, and drive launch. - Learn and Iterate
:
Work closely with customers, customer success, and internal data to understand product health and feed learning forward.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent real‑world experience.
- 12+ years of experience in technical product leadership roles.
- Experience building a new market for a technology or commercializing a technology for the first time.
- World‑class written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate complex topics to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Self‑starting leader in ambiguous and challenging environments, driving impact through persistence and adaptability.
- Advanced degree in Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field, and/or MBA.
- Experience in products related to Quantum Computing, Quantum Information Science, and/or AMO Physics.
- Experience in Cloud Computing, Scientific Computing, and/or High Performance Computing.
Remote‑first team; remote or from IonQ’s Seattle‑area, DC‑area, or Toronto offices. 10‑20% travel for on‑site conferences, team meetings, and customer visits.
CompensationBase salary range: $162,920 – $213,304. Total compensation includes base, bonus, equity, unlimited PTO, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, parental leave, and pet insurance.
