Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.

The organisation will schedule contracted hours within the advertised availability window, with 3 weeks notice of shifts. We are happy to support flexibility; if your available times match closely but not exactly, we would still love to hear from you.

As a Tesco Customer Delivery Driver, you will be the face of Tesco on the road, delivering across the country and meeting customers in their homes. This role involves more than driving; it is about delivering great service with a smile.

• Hands-on, physical work with variety. Most of the day you will feel like your own boss, delivering to customers with a support team at base when needed.

You will be responsible for delivering your part of the customer shopping trip by:

• Ensuring the van and trays are clean, tidy, and organised
• Leaving the back yard clean and litter-free
• Washing trays as part of the tray wash process
• Loading the van, checking roadworthiness
• Communicating with customers about changes to orders, including substitutions; offering refunds where appropriate
• Delivering products with care
• Explaining substitutions will not incur extra charges to customers
• Delivering during the customer’s time slot
• Calling the customer before arriving if early
• Calling the store/centre if running 30 minutes or more late

• Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit
• Warm and welcoming interactions with customers and colleagues
• Ability to respond quickly to changing customer needs
• Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations
• Share ideas with management on store improvements
• A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
