Finance Officer - Coleraine

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established community-focused organisation as a Finance Officer, supporting the effective financial management of a busy project environment. In this part-time role, you'll play a key part in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, supporting budgeting and reporting, and ensuring compliance with statutory and funding requirements.

What you'll be doing in this role:

  • Manage the day to day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate records of all income and expenditure
  • Maintain computerised and manual bookkeeping systems, including bank reconciliations, petty cash, sales invoicing and debtor management
  • Monitor and analyse income across multiple funding streams, ensuring all funding is correctly recorded, lodged and reported
  • Process supplier payments, maintain purchase approval systems and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts
  • Support the Project Manager in preparing annual budgets and monitor performance against actual spend
  • Prepare quarterly income and expenditure reports and investigate variances
  • Maintain budget trackers to support financial control and decision making

What you'll need for this role:

  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, budgeting and financial reporting
  • Experience managing payroll and statutory submissions
  • Ability to work with multiple funding streams and meet reporting deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team
  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll is desirable
  • Experience with in the community or voluntary sector would be an advantage
