Offal Attendant/Jockey Driver

Responsibilities
  • Collects condemn product by lot and on a periodic basis from 1st processing.
  • Weighs and records all condemn product, scaling product under correct code, ensuring all product is sent to correct trailer.
  • Prepares condemn product for transfer by dying condemn product.
  • Maintains the offal room in a clean, efficient manner, spraying screens and offal pit as needed.
  • Set up and start the equipment, including offal grinder to meet the needs of production.
  • Accurately record bi-product weights for container of heart, liver, lungs etc.
  • Assists with operational clean up.
  • Put birds in lairage area until replacement arrives.
  • Fill up all forklift tanks.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers and leadership teams.
  • Observe and enforce all company personnel, quality, and safety and food safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to complete written forms.
  • Ability to follow oral instructions.
  • Physical ability to handle heavy objects.
  • Valid forklift license.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to pass prove it test.
  • To perform this job successfully, applicant must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
