We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Psychologist to join our Community Stroke Rehabilitation team in North East Essex. You will be responsible for managing a complex clinical caseload. You will ensure the highest standards of practice and be committed to provide exceptional patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

This is a new psychology service, serving the acute Stroke Unit at Colchester General Hospital and the Community Stroke Rehabilitation service. The Community Stroke Rehabilitation service provides Early Supported Discharge as well as support for people who have a new therapeutic need some time after their stroke. This is in line with the integrated model for stroke services providing a needs-based service.

There will also be an in-reach element into Waverley Ward (Harwich), to provide support as required during the acute phase after stroke.

The role will join our multidisciplinary team which consists of Neurologists, an Assistant Psychologist, Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Dieticians, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as well as an experienced team of Associate and Assistant Practitioners. You will be working in a range of settings including patient s own homes, nursing and residential homes and with inpatients at Colchester Hospital and Harwich Hospital (Waverley Ward).

  Significant experience of working as a clinical psychologist in relevant settings and services is essential

  Clinical leadership ability, with a focus on guiding and supporting the team to deliver exceptional patient care.

  Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Car Driver
  : A valid driver s license and access to a car are required for travel within the community in North East Essex (Colchester, Clacton & Harwich).
• Professional Development
  : A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD), evidence-based practice, and participation in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
