Mechanical Estimator - Commercial Construction
Engelberth Construction, Inc. is looking for a Mechanical Estimator to provide expertise and support to the preconstruction and operation teams related to fire protection, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities- Develop estimates at all phases of design.
- Coordinate the subcontractor bidding process for CM and hard bid projects.
- Maintain the mechanical estimating database.
- Provide internal coordination with other team members related to mechanical systems (cost, scheduling, design issues, bidding strategies, and other risk management efforts).
- Support business development efforts by assisting with RFP responses and possibly attending project interviews.
- Perform mechanical system material and equipment takeoff.
- Coordinate with equipment and material vendors for current technologies and pricing.
- Develop cost estimates using Timberline/Sage estimating software.
- Understand the subcontractor market conditions and develop subcontractor bid lists.
- Develop subcontractor bid packages directing specific trade work scopes.
- Review subcontractor bids and proposals for conformance to requested information.
- Discuss estimates and subcontractor bidding results with owners and design team members.
- Provide constructability reviews and quality control feedback to designers.
- Develop cost reduction strategies and evaluate value engineering suggestions for cost and schedule impact.
- Engineering degree with 5+ years of design experience or equal years of mechanical trade estimating experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency (or desire to learn) digital take‑off and estimating software.

The pay range for this position is $75,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and job‑related skills. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, certifications, and internal equity.
