Overview
Help shape the voice of a mission‑led startup at an exciting growth stage. Lead on social media and marketing to raise awareness, showcase impact and support justice‑experienced young people to access new opportunities.
What difference will you make?Social media plays a vital role in helping us reach supporters, partners and opportunities that directly benefit justice‑experienced young people.
By strengthening our online presence, your work will help increase awareness of our programmes and the positive outcomes young people achieve through them. Clear, engaging content will support trust, credibility and engagement with funders, collaborators and customers.
At this stage of growth, we are consolidating multiple strands of work into a single, clear narrative. Your contribution will help ensure that the story is told consistently and confidently, supporting long‑term sustainability and enabling us to reach and support more young people.
What are we looking for? We’re looking for a creative, motivated, and reliable volunteer to help manage and grow our social media presence. This role is perfect for someone who genuinely supports our mission and wants to use their skills to amplify the voices and stories of people with lived experience of the justice system.
This is an independent role, so we need someone who already has hands‑on social media experience and can work without supervision. You should be confident creating posts, writing engaging captions, and designing simple visuals on your own. No training will be provided, so this role is best suited to someone who can hit the ground running. It’s an excellent opportunity for a student, early‑career professional, or anyone looking to build a strong portfolio while contributing to meaningful social impact.
Skillsand Experience
- Experience using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Linked In.
- Ability to plan and create content, schedule posts, and engage audiences effectively.
- Experience with analytics or content planning is a plus, but your ability to work independently and reliably is the most important factor.
- Professional or lived experience of the justice sector is welcomed but not essential.
We’re looking for someone who cares about making a positive difference and is motivated to help share stories that matter.
You should be empathetic, respectful, and open‑minded, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience. Creativity, curiosity, and a good sense of what engages people online are highly valued.
Being reliable, organised, and proactive is essential, as you will manage your own workload and deadlines. While no training will be provided, you’ll gain real‑world experience, develop a professional portfolio, and make a direct impact in a mission‑driven environment.

- May have professional or lived experience of the justice sector
- Is creative, reliable, and motivated to make a difference
- Could be a student or early‑career professional looking to build a portfolio
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences. The most important thing is your enthusiasm, experience, and commitment to helping us tell meaningful stories that raise awareness, build community, and celebrate the achievements of individuals who have experienced justice. By joining us, you will play a vital role in sharing our work, growing our online presence, and supporting our mission to make a positive difference in the community.
Whatwill you be doing?
This role focuses on planning, creating and delivering engaging social media content that reflects our mission, vision and values.
You will manage and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook and Linked In, promoting our programmes, partnerships, events and impact. Working closely with our team, you will help develop a consistent tone of voice that reflects who we are as an organisation and where we are heading.
You will ensure alignment between social media and website messaging, helping create a joined‑up digital presence as the organisation grows. The role includes monitoring engagement, identifying what works well, and suggesting improvements to increase reach and awareness.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys both planning and creativity. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team in a startup environment where your ideas will shape how we present ourselves publicly.
The commitment is one day per week for six months, with potential for further paid ad hoc work for the right volunteer.
