Colchester | Full-Time | £29,000 - £40,000 per year

We are recruiting a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support a busy food production and packing site. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for keeping machinery, equipment, and facilities running safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

This position would suit someone with mechanical or electrical maintenance experience who enjoys problem-solving, variety, and working as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and packhouse machinery
Diagnose faults quickly and complete effective repairs to reduce downtime
Undertake general site and building maintenance (plumbing/electrical skills desirable)
Ensure all work complies with health & safety and food safety standards
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report recurring issues
Work closely with operations teams to improve efficiency and reliabilit
Support site upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
Background in food production, manufacturing, FMCG, or similar environments preferred
Strong understanding of health & safety and safe working practices
Practical, hands-on approach with good fault-finding skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible and dependable, particularly during seasonal peak periods
