Healthcare Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active health care assistant to join the team based at Mersea Island Medical Practice. The position is offered on a part-time basis for 24 hours per week.

Our GPs, nurses and clinical teams do not exist in isolation. For effective patient care we need a strong and supportive clinical team, who keep each branch operating at its best and most efficient.

• Phlebotomy, ECGs, immunisations
• Wound care for patients
• Conducting foot checks for diabetes
• The role of a health care assistant is critical to the smooth day to day running of the practice.

Mersea Island Medical Practice is a local GP Practice with approximately 7500 patients. We are currently part of the Colte Partnership but will be independent from 1st April 2026.

• Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2

• Experience of working with, and building up working relationships with GPs, nursing and administration staff
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work well on their own as well as working in a team
• Strong understanding of confidentiality
