Overview
Working independently and in a team delivering a wide range of vaccinations to all age ranges. Working in schools, community clinics, and other venues. Providing assessment and review of missed vaccinations and reviewing vaccination histories for those not vaccinated according to the English Schedule. The Community Immunisation Practitioner delivers Immunisation Programmes as delegated by the Senior Immunisation Nurse, Clinical Lead or Team Lead.
The role requires travel across the area and, at times, outside of the region, with a full valid driving license and access to a car for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Reporting to the Immunisation Team and Clinical Lead, the Community Immunisation Practitioner will support service development and work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective Community and School Age Immunisation programme.
Responsibilities- Deliver an effective and efficient Immunisation Programme in partnership with service users, other stakeholders and commissioners.
- Collect accurate data at each session.
- Collaborate in planning and delivering immunisation programmes across communities to achieve KPIs.
- Work with local statutory, private and voluntary providers, and users to develop accessible and responsive services, targeting the most vulnerable groups to support social inclusion.
- Promote and monitor safe and effective practice.
- Provide and promote access to information and other services, referring as appropriate; liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies and other health service colleagues.
- Provide health promotion/education in line with the Immunisation programme.
- Adhere to current Local Safeguarding Board and Child Protection Procedures.
- Work flexibly; weekend and evening work across Suffolk and North East Essex to meet community needs.
- Full, valid driving license and access to a car for regular business use (unless protected by Equality Act 2010).
- Willingness to travel across the area and, at times, outside of the region.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a wide range of communities and individuals.
- Full training and induction will be provided; prior vaccination delivery experience is useful but not required.
- Ability to work flexibly and support flexible working patterns to maintain work-life balance.
