Position: Community Immunisation Nurse | Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust

About the Role

The Community Immunisation Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of the Immunisation Program memes as delegated by the Senior Immunisation nurse, Clinical lead or Team Lead. You will support the development of the service and work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective Community and School Age Immunisation programme.

Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for delivering an effective and efficient Immunisation Programme in partnership with service users, stakeholders and commissioners.
  • To collect accurate data at each session and work collaboratively in the planning and delivery of immunisation programmes across communities to achieve KPIs.
  • To work with local statutory, private and voluntary providers, and users to develop and promote practice that is accessible and responsive to all sections of the local community, ensuring targeting of vulnerable groups and social inclusion.
  • To promote and monitor safe and effective practice, provide and promote access to information and other services and liaise with statutory and non‑statutory agencies.
  • To provide health promotion/education in line with the Immunisation programme and adhere to current Local Safeguarding Board and Child Protection procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Registered nurse or midwife with excellent communication skills.
  • Full valid driving licence and access to a car is essential; you must hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes.
  • Ability to work flexibly across Suffolk and North East Essex, including weekend and evening work.
  • Experience of delivering vaccinations is useful; full training and induction will be offered to successful candidates.
  • Strong focus on promoting the health of others and delivering a wide range of vaccinations to all age ranges.
