Interventional Radiology Nurse

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Interventional Radiology nursing team at Colchester General Hospital. The team is small and friendly, comprising Nurses, Radiographers and Consultant Radiologists.

Core hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00. A 24/7 on‑call service is provided for emergency patients. You will be on a 1 in 5 rota once trained, with the requirement to reach the hospital within 45 minutes of being called.

• Provide high standard patient care in the Radiology setting.
• Support the multidisciplinary team in the vascular theatre and across clinical areas.
• Act as a team leader in the absence of senior staff and aid clinical skill development.
• Participate in scrub, conscious sedation and a cross‑site on‑call service.
• Develop specialist nursing skills in a highly specialised area.

• Full training will be given on the job; prior relevant experience is not essential.
• Opportunity to develop specialist skills and work with multi‑disciplinary teams.

• Full‑time 37.5 hours per week (minimum 30 hours acceptable).
