Charge Nurse – Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust – CAMHS General Adolescent Unit, Larkwood Ward, St Aubyn Centre
Job OverviewAn exciting opportunity to recruit a Charge Nurse to lead care on the 10‑bedded psychiatric intensive care ward for young people aged 13‑18. The successful candidate will be a Band 5 Nurse with proven leadership skills, able to oversee assessments of care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care for clients requiring treatment. Larkwood offers a DBT treatment offer and a CAMHS preceptorship programme.
Experience in CAMHS is preferable but excellent inpatient mental health care experience at Band 5 is welcomed.
- Excellent risk assessment skills
- Communicate effectively, written and verbal
- Demonstrate compassion, understanding, commitment, enthusiasm and motivation
- Apply the Recovery Model approach, supporting families and carers, and work as part of an established multidisciplinary team
- High level knowledge of the 6 C’s of care
- Active participation in training and education of learners allocated to the Mental Health Service, encouraging integration between the Ward Team and the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team
- Deliver highest quality care for patients with acute mental health issues, maintaining excellent customer care
- Receive supervision and support to fulfil your potential
