Overview
An international organisation is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting and accounting operations for its Swiss entities. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial results, managing statutory reporting requirements, and coordinating closely with shared service centres and external advisors.
This is a hands‑on position within a structured, multinational environment, requiring strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to collaborate effectively across international teams.
Responsibilities- Ensure financial results for local legal entities are accurate and compliant
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Manage statutory filings and support local tax compliance activities
- Ensure P&L and balance sheet reporting aligns with local GAAP and US GAAP requirements
- Review and validate account reconciliations prepared by shared service centres
- Support VAT and payroll tax reporting requirements
- Work with external advisors on tax documentation and transfer pricing matters
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory and statutory requirements
- Work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable shared service centres
- Ensure smooth operational coordination between local finance teams and shared services
- Support improvements to financial processes and internal controls
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Coordinate with subject matter experts on accounting, reporting and tax matters
- Provide support to local management on finance and tax‑related projects
- Supervise month‑end close processes and ensure accounting transactions are completed accurately and on time
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and group reporting packages
- Maintain and improve financial processes in line with internal audit requirements
- Assist with the integration of local accounting activities into group ERP systems
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in a responsible accounting role within an international or structured environment
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
- Knowledge of local GAAP and US GAAP reporting
- Experience with ERP systems (experience with Great Plains beneficial)
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Proactive and organised approach
- Strong problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in international teams
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Effective communication and leadership capability
