We have a market leading reputation for producing bespoke solutions for niche customer groups managed by our broker partners. Within the wider Schemes team we deliver Schemes (Delegated Authorities and MGA) solutions across the UK retail business. You will work across the existing portfolio of Schemes and analyse the impact of new Schemes opportunities, collaborating with underwriting, operations, and sales to deliver analytics and business insights that influence decisions and drive performance objectives in support of our Active Performance and Portfolio Management ambitions.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Design and develop data standards relevant for the sector, in conjunction with underwriting and Schemes leadership.
- Build and maintain a reporting suite using visualisation tools to monitor performance and portfolio trends, producing monthly and quarterly reports.
- Use analytical skills to spot trends and recommend strategy adjustments to support profitable growth.
- Assess new scheme opportunities in collaboration with Delivery Underwriters, supporting growth ambitions and service commitments.
- Identify opportunities for data, reporting and process improvements across the Schemes Sector.
- Conduct data analysis for profitable growth within existing portfolios.
- Assess the impact of external datasets in partnership with data and portfolio analyst communities.
- Apply regulatory knowledge to portfolio decisions, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of customers.
- Provide independent review and recommendation for underwriting on large individual risk cases.
- Perform ad‑hoc data analysis including underwriting referral analysis and recommend improvements.
- Deliver a consistent and accurate suite of reports covering deal conversion, underwriting loss, combined ratio, portfolio mix, claims frequency, and large loss analysis.
- Experience in a similar role, using analytics to drive performance and growth.
- Confidence in data analysis tools such as R and SQL, and visualisation tools including Power BI.
- Proficiency in applying analytical techniques to extract meaningful trends.
- Ability to make confident decisions in difficult and complex situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and data manipulation skills.
- Results‐driven, able to make decisions and operate on own initiative.
- Ability to influence at all levels both internally and externally.
- Open to new ideas, innovation and educated risk‑taking.
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex information to technical and non‑technical audiences.
