Recent Electronic Engineering graduate (or soon to qualify)? Launch your career in real-world hardware product development with my client, a forward-thinking leader in advanced electronics solutions. I am recruiting a talented Graduate Component Engineer to join their Hardware Design team.
This role builds a strong foundation in component selection, supply chain, compliance, and electronics, offering structured exposure and clear progression toward a Hardware Design Engineer position.
As a Component Engineer, you'll support the full component lifecycle in innovative products, collaborating closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist with selection, approval, and qualification of electronic components
Evaluate alternatives, second sources, and parametric comparisons
Maintain component libraries and databases
Monitor lifecycle status (NRND, LTB, EOL) and support obsolescence mitigation
Contribute to last-time-buy analysis, BOM generation, and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with standards and regulations (RoHS, REACH, etc.)
Support component and product testing/evaluation
Liaise with suppliers for technical data and availability
Help improve selection processes and standards
Join training, seminars, trade shows, and audits
What We're Looking For:
Degree (recent or imminent) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related field
Familiarity with schematic/PCB tools, datasheets, and BOMs
Multi-disciplinary team experience (e.g., projects/placements)
Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities
Ability to prioritise and work effectively
Enjoy hands-on product work, mentorship from senior Hardware Design Engineers, and growth in a supportive, innovative setting.
