Electronics Test Technician | Colchester | Up to £45,000 | Manufacturing

The Opportunity
I am recruiting on behalf of our client, a specialist electronics manufacturer operating within a highly regulated, quality-driven environment. They are seeking an Electronics Test Technician to join their UK Test department, supporting the testing and inspection of electronic products and assemblies.

This role would suit an Electronics Test Technician with a strong background in production testing, fault finding, and working to defined quality standards, who is looking for a stable, long-term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Perform functional, electrical, and performance testing in line with documented procedures
Operate manual and automated test equipment and accurately record results
Inspect products and assemblies against specifications and standards
Identify and diagnose faults to component level and support root cause analysis
Maintain accurate test records and reports within company systems
Work in compliance with AS9100 Rev D and company QMS requirements
Set up and maintain test equipment and ensure a safe, FOD-free work environment

Skills & Experience Required

HNC/HND, BTEC Level 3 or higher in Electronic Engineering (essential)
Proven experience in an electronics test or manufacturing environment
Hands-on use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test documentation

Desirable

IPC-A-610 certification

Experience with in aerospace, defence, or high-reliability manufacturing
Knowledge of AS9100, Lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement
