Do you believe that every child deserves a tailored path to success? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 SEND Instructor to join our team in Colchester.

This isn't just a support role; it's an opportunity to be the steady hand and the encouraging voice for a student with additional needs. If you thrive on making a tangible difference and want to share your ideas to create a fun, exciting, and engaging environment for children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and other complex needs, we want to hear from you.

As a 1:1 Instructor, you will move beyond general classroom assistance to provide intensive, personalised support. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • 1:1 & Small Group Mentorship:
    Driving academic and personal development through focused, individual attention.
  • IEP Implementation:
    Delivering bespoke Individualised Education Plans and meticulously tracking progress milestones.
  • Positive Behavioural Support:
    Utilizing empathetic strategies and reinforcement to manage emotional and social challenges.
  • Holistic

    Collaboration:

    Partnering with teachers, parents, and therapists to ensure a 360-degree support system for the student.
  • Environment Crafting:
    Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating, and sensory-aware learning space.

Ideal Qualities:

We are looking for an adaptable professional who understands that progress is measured in small, meaningful victories.

  • Experience:

    Previous work with children, specifically within the SEND sector.
  • Compliance: A Child DBS currently on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Insight: A strong grasp of diverse learning styles and developmental stages.
  • Character:
    Exceptional communication skills, a patient temperament, and the resilience to thrive in a dynamic setting.
