Randstad Education is looking for a Maths Teacher who understands that "one size fits all" never applies to the classroom. We are partnering with a dedicated SEN School in Colchester that needs an educator who can look past the numbers and see the individual student.

As a Mathematics Teacher, you will join a department that prides itself on academic rigour and innovation. You will use modern tools-including interactive platforms like Sparx Maths-to deliver a curriculum that builds deep conceptual understanding. Whether you are helping Year 7s master the basics or guiding Year 11s through their higher-tier GCSEs, you will be part of a team that consistently achieves strong "Basics" results and inspires students to see the real-world value of Mathematics.
YourResponsibilities
- Think Outside the Box:
Turn abstract algebra into practical life skills (budgeting, time-management, spatial awareness). - Build Resilience:
Support students with SEMH, ASD, or learning difficulties to overcome "maths anxiety." - Be the Constant:
Provide a stable, structured, and empathetic environment where students feel safe to make mistakes. - Collaborate:
Work alongside therapists and support staff to calculate the best path forward for every child.
- You have QTS and a knack for simplifying the complex.
- You don't just teach a curriculum; you teach a person.
- You are resilient, calm under pressure, and a natural "pattern-finder" for student behaviour.
- You want small class sizes where you can actually make a measurable difference.
