We are looking for a friendly and nurturing person to join our support staff team at Rodings.

We require an SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) LSA to support a child within our Year 1 classroom working alongside the class teacher and LSA. The successful candidate needs to have a positive attitude, a patient and caring nature. Putting the child's needs at the centre of everything you do will be essential. An understanding of autism and ADHD would be a preference along with experience and knowledge of how to support children that are pre‑verbal.

Intimate care and support with toileting will also be part of the role. Flexibility and adaptability will also be key.

The successful candidate will also support the children at lunchtime, supporting them to build friendships and to play games.

Ofsted May 2023 said: 'Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) participate fully in the school community. This helps people with SEND to make strong progress'.

Tasks will include general class support as well as specific interventions for the child and elements of delivering a bespoke curriculum.

Initially, as this is a fixed term contract, school experience is preferred but appropriate support will be given to the right candidate.

Rodings is an exciting and vibrant school where staff wellbeing is at the core of our provision. This includes social events, a staff welfare package, a dedicated member of staff responsible for staff well being and cakes and chocolate on a regular basis.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
